There are few things that confuse professionals more than networking.
•       Extroverts think networking is collecting business cards at happy hours.
•       Introverts think it’s about selling out to the extroverts who like to collect business cards.
•       Job seekers think it’s about sending out a million resumes to everyone they’ve ever met asking people to give them a job.
•       That girl you knew back in high school thinks it’s about messaging people she hasn’t seen in years to tell them they’d be “just perfect for her team!” in the MLM she just joined.

Those things might be networking, but they aren’t effective networking.

Effective networking is about exactly one thing: Relationships.

Join Diana Alt to learn about what effective networking really is, and how to network properly in different contexts such as job searches, conferences, and networking events.

A recent CareerBuilder study reported that 57% of job candidates don’t send thank-you notes. In my experience, it's even higher. Taking an extra 3-5+ minutes after an interview to write a genuine thank you to those you met with during the interview can influence your chances of earning that coveted offer, yet many are skipping this step which can communicate your initiative, gratitude, writing and listening skills, organization and follow up, and more! Take this recommended interview piece a step further with our 5 key best practices and interview note components, which will help you further brand and market yourself towards that role!

Many job seekers focus their interview prep on questions targeted to the position they are pursuing. While this step is important, it is also crucial to prepare for those standard interview questions. Many people believe they can handle these basic questions without practice, but ultimately find themselves stumbling for a coherent response. This webinar will cover how to address 6 common interview questions to help you respond clearly with confidence.

Covered Questions:
• Tell me about yourself.
• What brings you to the job market?
• What are your greatest strengths?
• What are your weaknesses?
• Why should we hire you?
• Do you have any questions?

Frank Bernieri, Professor at Oregon State University, wanted to see how important first impressions were during an interview. He had professionally trained interviewers watch 20 min videos of interviews. And rate the individual on different elements of hireability. He then had novices watch just the first 20 seconds of the same interviews, and also rate the individual. The ratings between the 2 groups were virtually the same! We all have heard that first impressions are important. Certified body language trainer, Jeff Baird will share just how important it they are. And give you nonverbal tips on how to nail the interview and get more job offers.

Princeton Professor Alex Todorov did an experiment where he showed people pictures on candidates running for local office. He found that with nothing but a picture, people could guess who won about 70% of the time! Todorov found that people look for trust & competence in someone they're considering voting for. If simply a picture can get you elected, how important is your own LinkedIn profile?
