Many leaders want to transform their organization to become more agile, adaptive, and responsive to the market. However, most do not deeply understand how to lead their organization through such a massive change. They install prescriptive scaling frameworks and send employees to training, but discard the elements of true transformation that are difficult. When the inevitable failure ensues, they switch frameworks, fire people, and revert back to what worked for them in the past. What these leaders fail to recognize is that the mindset they used to build their organization conflicts with the mindset required to transform their organization. In short, they fail to shift from a hierarchical, command-and-control style to a holistic, systems-thinking approach. In this workshop, Steven Granese presents his Transformation Leadership Systems Model, which is based on his background in organizational psychology and experience in consulting companies of all sizes. This model is designed with systems thinking and teaches leaders why they must optimize their entire complex system, and not just the individual parts. Attendees will leave with a deep understanding that agile leaders must create a system which generates feedback at multiple levels. Attendees will also participate in a simulation to reinforce the model and deepen their understanding of leading real transformation.

Steven Granese has been building innovative teams and solutions for his entire nineteen-year career in the technology industry. His expertise lies in transforming organizations to deliver their desired business outcomes by adopting an agile way of working. He holds multiple agile certifications (CSM, CSP, PMI-ACP) and is an avid speaker for companies, conferences, and user groups. Steven currently serves as the director of agile consulting at AgileThought, where he leads a team of the top agile coaches in the Tampa Bay area. He holds master's degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University.

Design Thinking begins with empathy. JTBD focuses on what a customer wants to accomplish. Both of these methods start in the right place, but in practice this place is only visited for a couple of days. There's no time in the design/develop cycle for much more than that. But the problem space is not a part of ideation, prototypes, testing, or development cycles. The problem space is only about a person’s larger purpose, unrelated to any organization, product, or service. It's the larger purpose that brings the power to the beginning of Design Thinking and JTBD. The larger purpose is something you can understand at depth, but only if you take time to develop empathy first. Most teams try walking in someone’s shoes based on assumptions. Furthermore, empathy isn't what you may think it is. Indi will review examples of common assumptions and introduce you to deeper methods that allow your team to find gaps & weaknesses in existing offerings as well as innovate for audiences you were completely unaware of.

Indi pioneered mental model diagrams and thinking styles to help teams truly pay attention to people, without letting cognitive bias and assumptions creep in. In 2008, her book Mental Models, introducing he problem space research method, was published. Her second book, Practical Empathy, was released in 2015, and she narrated it for Audible in 2016. Her next book is due out in 2019. She runs a series of advanced online training about the importance of pushing the boundaries of your perspective. You can find lots of on-line advice about how to migrate a SQL Server workload to the cloud, including our own videos and white papers. But no matter what you’ve heard, there are three tasks in a well-planned migration to the cloud that take a lot of work and elbow grease:
• Cleansing your existing data
• Moving the data into the cloud
• Running the current on-premises SQL Server workload in parallel with the cloud workload as it comes online
In this webinar, we will show you the most common approaches to completing these essential tasks, which are mini-projects unto themselves, and then we’ll show you tools that make these challenging tasks much faster and easier.
By attending this session, you will learn the processes and skills used by the top experts and consultants in the business when migrating an on-premises SQL Server workload to the cloud. This will enable you and your IT team to spend less time on the drudgery of a cloud migration project and more of your limited time adding value to the enterprise.
