In Demand: RPA

March 2018- By Carrier Collier, National Talent Advocate

What Our Clients Have to Say

From conception to full blown live implementations, RPA Robots are taking on the rapidly increasing automation demands in 2018. Over the last few years, companies across the country have progressively hired RPA professionals in order to build out and implement their RPA/AI Centers of Excellence. According to recent data produced by CEB Talent Neuron and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for RPA talent has increased 62% since January 2017.

In order to help meet our clients’ increasing demands for RPA talent, Apex has strategically partnered with US-based training program The RPA Academy . The RPA Academy provides on-demand and in person training for professionals looking to learn the fundamentals required to become skilled in the RPA lifecycle. As the need for RPA professionals increases across industries, Apex is supporting our clients by helping them meet their organizational goals and address these critical gaps in the workforce

Robotic process automation (RPA) is the application of technology that allows employees in a company to configure computer software or a “robot” to capture and interpret existing applications for processing a transaction, manipulating data, triggering responses and communicating with other digital systems.

Any company that uses labor on a large scale for general knowledge process work, where people are performing high-volume, highly transactional process functions, will boost their capabilities and save money and time with RPA software.

"The global market for RPA Software and Services will reach $898 million in 2018 and is expected to grow to $2.2 billion by 2021 at a compound annual growth rate of 54%"

" In one recent survey , over 70% of respondents said they were currently utilizing RPA and 66% said they were either expanding their current implementation or thinking about it."

"Nearly 70% also said their RPA spending would increase in the next 12 months. - 2017 Institute for Robotic Process Automation and Artificial Intelligence Survey."

" In 2018, 9% of US jobs will be lost to automation , partly offset by a 2% growth in jobs supporting the “automation economy.” Specifically impacted will be back-office and administrative, sales, and call center employees. A wide range of technologies, from robotic process automation and AI to customer self-service and physical robots will impact hiring and staffing strategies as well as create a need for new skills."

" Robotic process automation (RPA) will reshape the workforce .  As enterprises become more acclimated with automation, RPA will take over low-value repetitive tasks and rote work. In 2018, RPA-based digital workers (i.e., bots) will replace and/or augment 311,000 office and administrative positions and 260,000 sales and related jobs to deliver enhanced customer experiences. Digital transformation spending will increasingly emphasize automation, and operating models will be re-engineered around it."

" Robotic Process Automation (RPA) emerged as an important technology in 2017 and looks primed to take an even bigger part in 2018, according to Bill Galusha , Senior Product Marketing Manager at Irvine, Calif.-based Kofax. Galusha called 2017 a year of acceleration and adoption of RPA in large enterprises. While some want to move the discussion to the next level, bringing in the element of artificial intelligence, there are no shortage of opportunities for enterprises to implement RPA now, which will lead to continued growth and adoption of it in 2018.

"In 2018, automation will go from being a political hot topic to having a genuine and measurable impact on our day-to-day lives. "
