http://webadmin.apexsystemsinc.com/blogs/PublishingImages/HomePage/Prepare%20for%20Your%20Next%20Interview-360x360.png/blogs/Pages/3StepsInterviewPrep.aspxApril 2017 - By, Johnathon Klink , Account Manager, Apex Systems.
In my time working at Apex Systems, I’ve been the Recruiter or Account Manager for over 100 placements in just over four years. I’ve seen candidates that were an ideal fit for the position not get a job, and I’ve seen candidates that hit on only a few of the requirements get an offer. Resumes are a great launching point to get an interview, but if candidates don’t prepare correctly, the odds of landing a role are greatly reduced. I’d like to cover a few interview preparation tips that many job seekers may be overlooking.

We had the pleasure of doing a mini Q&A with Taher, one of our contractors in Texas who is a Business Analyst on a global Information Security team for an enterprise level financial services organization! After only a couple months on the team, Taher had received considerable glowing feedback on his attitude, approach, competencies, and overall contributions he was able to make immediately to a high-profile project! “Taher has made an immediate impact since joining the team.

Perhaps the greatest frustration we hear from candidates during their job search is around the dreaded “black hole.” Some of the most common questions include, “Where does my resume go when I apply via a website or job posting? How come I never hear back? What can I do to increase the likelihood of my resume getting seen? What are some tools I could leverage? How can I keep track of all the positions I’m applying for? Do you have any additional tips when applying for jobs via a website/posting?”  All great questions, so let’s discuss each one!

It’s no secret that technology is heavily immersed in nearly all businesses today. It’s the driver behind many business processes, increasing companies’ capabilities for efficiency. Apex Systems’ CIO Rob Waddell knows this well, as he has effectively implemented an approach to connecting technology to our business practices for the last 10 years here at Apex.

How job seekers identify and pursue jobs is considerably different from even 5 years ago! New platforms have provided additional resources, new tools have provided advantages (if you know what they are and how to use them), and both job seekers and the potential employers they’re trying to get an interview with have a wealth of information about each other at the click of a ‘Search’ button.

Navigating the job market in an effective, efficient, and anxiety-free manner is difficult; it’s tricky terrain! In the last decade, things have changed dramatically with how people should conduct their job search, from the resources they use to identify job leads, to how they pursue those leads, to tools they can leverage to assist, to systems that companies utilize to prioritize applicants, to the “digital background checks” companies use to screen applicants! They say “knowledge is power,” and “effective job searching tool knowledge is power” is an incredibly true statement!
