In 2019, we launched our first Earth Day trash clean-up campaign. Apexers quickly rallied behind the idea, with 22 teams across the country engaging with their communities on April 22, 2019 to remove trash from local parks, business communities, and areas that employees recommended to be cleaned.
Doing our part to better the environment is a top priority at Apex, and we are so proud that our employees have committed to contributing! Our teams participate in a range of activities to support their local environment throughout the year, including clean-ups, restoration, planting trees/soil, volunteering at community farms, plant exchanges, and more. Through organizations like Earth Corps, SOLVE Oregon, Keep America Beautiful, Adopt-A-Highway, and Wetlands Restorations, there are no shortage of opportunities to get involved and give back.

While social distancing will keep us from doing our 2nd Earth Day Trash Pick Up in April, we look forward to organizing and doing this summer or fall!

Outside of our annual Earth Day trash clean-up campaign, various branches participated in beach, park, and road clean-ups, like our Jacksonville branch. Many of our teams also stepped out during lunch breaks to pick up trash for 15-30 minutes around their business parks.
Our Seattle team volunteered at the Rainier Beach Wetlands Restoration, where they spent four hours cleaning and restoring greenhouses to working condition to allow them to more efficiently collect, clean, pack, and distribute fresh, in-season fruits and vegetables to the community.
Our Portland team partnered with SOLVE Oregon to participate in a mountain clean up, where their furry friends where invited too!
Raleigh Apexers supported environmental efforts in a variety of ways over the last year, including multiple trash pick-ups, volunteering at community farms, and helping to harvest plants at Interfaith Food Shuttle Farm.
Seattle supported Earth Corps, whose mission is to “develops leaders to strengthen community and restore the health of our environment.” They volunteered for 5 hours prepping live stake beds, which are used to propagate trees/bushes that can be trimmed and replanted in areas experiencing soil erosion.
