Why is it we value people who don't fail when research has shown you need to fail to maximize your learning to become significantly better when trying it again? Let's face it, you didn't just start walking without falling a few times first. In a corporate environment, how can you fail in order to learn? This presentation will cover modern approaches that will set help you set yourself up to learn and develop your expertise more quickly, by failing safely. You will learn techniques that can be used by business analysts and project managers that allow you to fail safely, and learn significantly deeper insights about your project solution and organization.

In business, we are told from the very first day on the job that failure is bad. It's as if not failing is more important than succeeding. We go to great lengths to avoid failure. We put ourselves into a make-believe world where no mistakes can be made and we overwork ourselves to the point of exhaustion all in the name of 'not failing'. Deluded in the belief that failure is not an option, we are at a loss on how to handle failure. What can we do?

We learn more from the failures in our lives than we do in succeeding. If we can build a culture of failing fast and safe, not only will we have great project success, we will cause less long-term disruption, impacts on our stakeholders, and costly rework. Let's build a strategy together on how to help your organization fail in a safe way and how to learn quickly from the failure to innovate new solutions and approaches for your projects.
