In this session, certified body language expert and science of people writer Jeff Baird shares tips for developing strong relationships with your employees!

Group Discussion Questions:

1. It can be a difficult balance for Managers to achieve that respect and likability. How do you build rapport, warmth, openness and trust? Where do you struggle with connecting with your teammates?

2. What is your process, and some best practices, for establishing a strong foundation when a new employee starts? How do you connect?

3. Which body language cue was most interesting to you? How do you maintain authority and elude confidence and competence while remaining respectful and open? Do you use power body language?

4. One of the questions at the end is what Jeff has seen managers do wrong, such as not smiling, not acknowledging people when they walk by, always staying behind their desk or in their office (status symbols) instead of periodically going to where they are to communicate they are a priority. What mistake have you seen managers make, or do you make?
