Code is now running on just about everything. Threats from around the world would like to damage our data, reputation, finances, and more. As such, we need to be as secure as possible. There are lots of arrows in that quiver. One of them is application security. But more broadly we need to look at the whole product and ecosystem. We need to find security bugs in the products and systems we build, before bad actors do. Dr. Jared DeMott is an information security expert. He’s the founder of VDA Labs, and previously served as a vulnerability analyst with the NSA. He holds a PhD from Michigan State University. He regularly speaks on vulnerabilities at conferences like RSA, DerbyCon, BlackHat, ToorCon, GrrCon, HITB, etc. He was a finalist in Microsoft’s BlueHat prize contest, which helped make Microsoft customers more secure. Dr. DeMott has been on three winning Defcon capture-the-flag teams, and has been an invited lecturer at prestigious institutions such as the United States Military Academy. Jared is also a Pluralsight author, a professor at DSU, and is often quoted online and has made TV appearances.
