A specialty pharmacy leverages our Agile solution to develop a new, customizable packing application for temperature-sensitive medications.

SITUATION

Our client was seeking a strategic partner to help them produce a new packing application. They needed assistance building out an application with a patented process for shipping temperature-sensitive medications and were looking for a partner with expertise in Angular, .NET, and C# technologies. We were chosen to support this initiative because of our competitive costs and ability to immediately provide resources with the right expertise to execute on a tight timeline.

SOLUTION

We provided a near shore team that included a technical lead, data engineer, and backend and frontend developers, along with an engagement manager with technical project management experience, to assist our client with the project. The team built upon our client’s existing pilot application to develop a full multi-pharmacy solution. Our developers utilized their Angular, .NET, C#, and data engineering expertise to develop a product that included a new administrative web application for customer support, configuration, and reporting.

Resulted in significant reshipment cost savings for our client

The desktop packing application allows customer service administrators to select the correct temperature-sensitive packing technique based on the prescription and route for delivery, adjust order details, and update configurations per pharmacy. The application ensures that when medication arrives, it is safe and effective for patient use.

RESULTS

With the assistance of our development team, our client launched a new application on a tight timeline that allowed for customization of medication packaging based on shipping requirements.

As a result of our solution, the client anticipates a significant annual savings in reshipment costs, as the application reduces waste and delivery of defective products. Further, the application is expected to enhance patient experience, safety, and quality of care.
