Case Study Agile

A leading tax preparation company utilizes our Agile solution offering to modernize their online shopping cart to the Azure cloud.

SITUATION ​

Our client, a leading tax preparation corporation, was executing an enterprise-wide modernization effort and needed help moving their existing online shopping cart technology to use the Azure cloud. They did not have the required experienced resources internally and were seeking a partner with extensive relevant technical expertise at a competitive price point. 

SOLUTION ​

We were chosen as a partner for this engagement because of our experience running Agile teams and our ability to provide a fixed price per sprint with a fully staffed scrum team. 

We provided a skilled team of Agile consultants from our nearshore Mexico Delivery Center (MDC) based in Guadalajara, Mexico. The team also included an onshore technical lead and Scrum Master. ​

Solution delivered in five three-week sprints​

To meet the client’s modernization requirements, our team used Azure DevOps to define the product backlog and aligned sprints to the client’s capacity. We provided a functional end-to-end shopping cart fully integrated with our client’s back end systems using .NET Core, Kubernetes/AKS and Angular 8 technologies. Additional deliverables included pipelines to QA, documented runbook, sprint KPIs and knowledge transfer. ​

RESULT

Our Agile team successfully modernized the client’s shopping cart technology to the Azure cloud, working collaboratively to complete the entire engagement remotely. We delivered a full end-to-end solution within five three-week sprints on a fixed price per sprint basis, saving our client both on production time and development costs. Because of our success with this project, the client expanded the engagement for additional work with the team to extend functionality of the application. ​
