Job Description:

As a Database Architect, you will be responsible for modernizing legacy database platforms, serve in the advisory role to the engineering, security, and operations teams. You will define database architecture roadmaps and work together with cloud architects to lay the database migration strategies to Public or hybrid cloud environments. You’re expected to know all the database concepts, understand the differences between the SQL and NoSQL frameworks, and understand the database competitive landscape. You will transform the current database infrastructure to achieve better performance, lower the total cost of operating, upgrading, and monitoring the databases.
Responsibilities

  • Drive database transformation in public cloud environments
  • Own and maintain the enterprise database architecture roadmaps and database standards
  • Responsible for re-architecting and support migrating databases
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining the database cloud strategy
  • Collaborate with and educate internal teams like engineering, security, IT solution delivery, and operations
  • Participate and advise on root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex database issues
  • Responsible for management of data structure at the design phase
  • Be able to give demo to the C-level executives
  • Be able to understand the relationship between the enterprise databases and the data warehouse systems
  • Be able to create comprehensive documentation on database design and architecture
  • Be able to quickly respond to changes in priorities.


Qualifications

  • More than 5 years’ experience in database architecture, database modernization, database re-design, database migration
  • Deep experience working on multiple versions of PostgreSQL, IBM Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, in-memory databases like Redis, NoSQL platforms like Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, and Cassandra
  • 3+ years in AWS Public Cloud, hybrid cloud or app cloud modernization with hands-on experience
  • Knowledge of popular Kubernetes frameworks such as Openshift and Amazon EKS
  • Knowledge on Kubernetes, AKS, Docker, Ocelot, Open API, BFF, YAML
  • Deep experience in solution, application, integration, cloud infrastructure, network, operation, and security
  • Preferred technical guidance and professional expertise to other tams
  • Team player and team leadership - continually learn, evolve and stay committed, give and receive constructive feedback
  • Knowledge of frameworks on AWS and Azure, Identity framework, API Gateway, GitHub, Estimation, ROI and TCO
  • Hands-on style- be able to write and maintain test plans and framework for databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
