Position: Project Manager
Location: Stamford, CT
Rate: Negotiable
Duration: 3-6 month contract to hire
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
The incumbent will enable the implementation of complex initiatives that cut across various business functions and requires technology support. The incumbent will be obligated to build a deep understanding of the subject matter and leverage this understanding to create project plans, process flows and requirements, building and motivating team members to meet project goals and milestones. The incumbent will ensure an end-to-end management of the project, by influencing stake holders from multiple functions and ensuring timely and error free delivery of the initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that proper stake holders are identified and influenced to deliver on the project
Create detailed, well thought out project plans and ensure adherence from all stake holders to their respective deliverables
• Monitor project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, critical path
• Organize and lead periodic communication sessions with all concerned, to provide updates, and elicit feedback and status-checks
Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
• Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
Ensure a proper accounting and management of the funds allocated to the project
Qualifications:
• 4+ years experience in the role of project manager within a cross-functional matrix environment
• Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the projects managed
• Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, SmartSheet
• Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
Ability to develop strong working relationships with peers and project members and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective
Must Haves:
• Tools – jira, ticketing, MicroStrategy, SQL, some python work
Nice to Haves:
• *familiarity business requirement documents – write or read through BRD
