Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

 

Shift: 2nd shift, 3pm-11:30pm, Monday-Friday

 

Pay: up to $36/hr

 

Job Description

Performs maintenance tasks, including conduct routine (preventative maintenance) PMs, repairs of EVS equipment and responds to Maintenance calls / pager. This position will respond to alarms and requests from Engineering staff to assess urgent customer calls for building utilities and other facility concerns.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

• Ability to handle multiple tasks utilizing a variety of skills.

• Competent to maintain and repair the physical environment within all client spaces.

• Respond to calls for requested Maintenance services via Hotline calls or through assigned tasks.

• Repair EVS equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubber, carpet extractors, upholstery cleaner, and be able to oversee preventative maintenance of all EVS equipment.

• Ability to complete documentation of workflow and use a computer.

• Monitor, repair and/or adjust small equipment, etc.

 

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED

• 2-3 years work experience in the following facilities maintenance areas (electronics, electrical, mechanical and pneumatics), or school equivalent.

• Experience operating and repairing EVS floor swing machines, auto scrubbers, burnishers, carpet and upholstery extractors, and other EVS equipment.

• Experience with repairing or conducting PMs on equipment and fixtures.

• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record

• Accustomed to a computerized work request system

• Basic knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations

 

 

Nice to Haves

• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.

• Ability to make minor plumbing repairs

• Ability to perform tasks such as minor replacement of ceiling tiles, lamps, etc.

• Ability to perform routine checks of fire extinguishers, eye washes, Bathroom water pressures, ice machines, emergency lighting.

• Ability to respond to alarms, alerts and urgent requests from Facilities Engineer on-call to provide on-site assessment of customers’ facility concerns.

• Some knowledge of the healthcare environment.

• Ability to conduct routine inspection of patient rooms for environmental, mechanical and equipment concerns, and make required repairs.

• Ability to work overtime when necessary to support high priority requests or meet project goals.

• Flexibility to work on several projects at the same time

• Ability to carry a personal cell/ Wi-Fi phone daily

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to use computers and related software applications
