Contract: Multiyear project. 1 Year rolling contract.

Location: Toronto, Downtown Core (hybrid model, 2 times/week in office)

Job Description: Canadian Trading Technologies provides technology solutions to enhance/support the business trading division. There are numerous trading applications used on the trading floors, facilitating trade capture, market data distribution, position and client risk management and trade execution and settlement. These systems are varied in their implementation, some are enterprise products, vendor hosted and internally hosted by other client locations.

The Trading Technology group in Toronto has a team who are involved in Project initiation, analysis (business and system), development, quality assurance and implementation. The Canadian team covers all trading applications for equity and debt and is supported in those same lines of business in other areas. The large focus is on Mortgages (trades) for this role. There is a fixed income regulatory project, which will require collaborating with multiple teams, and performing SQL-based testing, utilizing Change Control, and business documentation to ensure the platform upgrade is complete.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with external vendors and technology groups to assess requirements, and drive analysis of proposed solutions
  • Support the process of translating business needs into formal technical requirement deliverables and creating formal business requirement documentation
  • Perform regression and other SQL-based testing on data migration and platform upgrades 
  • Act as liaison between business and technical development staff and/or vendors
  • Contribute to multiple concurrent projects, objectives and activities
  • Identifying test scripts/cases and assisting the QA process to ensure that all production changes are fully tested prior to release 

 

Key Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience with an understanding of Mortgage-based applications 
  • Proven track record using a variety of technologies to deliver and meet business goals 
  • Experience with regulatory projects - i.e. Change Control
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Exposure to trading applications and FIX protocol strongly preferred
  • Experience with MLC enterprise solution - MortgageHub by TAO solutions - or other mortgage vendor platforms 
  • University Degree (Business, Commerce, or Computer Science)
