Job Description:
Title: GIS Analyst
Location: Birmingham, AL
Duration: Contract to Hire (full benefits; Health, Dental, Vision, 401K)
Job Summary:
The GIS Analyst will be responsible for discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping, finding anomalies in statistical data, developing mapping applications and tools, and managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types for LED lighting units in conjunction with Power Delivery and its technology work procedures.
Additionally, the analyst is responsible for designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources, creating “shapefiles” to merge topographical data with external data, converting physical maps into a digital form for computer usage, performing data conversion and managing digital library of geographic maps for LED lighting units
Requirements:
- data extraction and manipulation (using Python or SQL)
- GIS Mapping
- Coding experience
Education: 2 or 4 year degree preferred
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Any GIS mapping certifications
- Chat DTB experience
- Arch GIS 10 experience
- Arch GIS Pro experience
