Location: Hybrid 1-2 days in office (Downtown, Toronto)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Application Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the high-performance, availability, and reliability of mission-critical applications within our financial institution. Key Responsibilities:
- Azure Application Insights:
- Leverage your extensive experience to configure and manage Azure Application Insights for comprehensive application and infrastructure monitoring.
Utilize your expertise to set up custom telemetry collection and instrumentation.
Create, customize, and fine-tune alert rules to proactively identify and address performance issues.
- Dynatrace:
- Apply your in-depth knowledge to install and configure Dynatrace agents, ensuring thorough monitoring of application components and infrastructure.
Harness Dynatrace's capabilities for end-to-end transaction monitoring, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
Customize Dynatrace configurations to capture critical metrics and data relevant to our applications.
- Alerting and Monitoring:
- Develop and implement advanced alerting strategies for Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace, drawing from your wealth of experience to ensure timely detection and resolution of performance anomalies.
Use your track record to vigilantly monitor alert notifications, respond promptly to alerts, and adeptly troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Data Analysis:
- Employ your extensive analytical skills to dissect telemetry data gathered by both Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace. Identify complex performance bottlenecks, errors, and optimization opportunities.
Offer seasoned insights and recommendations to optimize application performance.
- Documentation and Training:
- Capitalize on your extensive experience to create and maintain comprehensive documentation on best practices, alert configurations, and advanced troubleshooting procedures.
Provide authoritative training to team members on the effective utilization of Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace.
- Integration and Collaboration:
- Leverage your extensive experience in financial institutions to seamlessly collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and DevOps engineers. Ensure the successful integration of monitoring solutions into the application development and deployment pipeline.
Tap into your familiarity with the unique needs of financial institutions to liaise with vendors and external partners when necessary to optimize monitoring tools.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Utilize your extensive knowledge to stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies related to application monitoring and performance management.
Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, relying on your data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience configuring, customizing, and managing Azure Application Insights and Dynatrace for complex applications within a financial institution.
Exceptional understanding of application performance monitoring concepts, metrics, and best practices.
Proven ability to expertly set up and customize alerts and notifications.
Familiarity with Azure cloud services is advantageous.
Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Dynatrace Associate) are a plus.
