Apex Systems is seeking an OSP Engineer for an exciting role with our Telecommunications Client!

Compensation: $56k-$66k

Hybrid:  3 days in office,  2 days in field. 

This individual is a Telecommunications Professional and must be capable of engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders, both distribution and feeder. Must be capable of providing administrative and field support to the outside plant work forces. 5-7 years of experience 

This position is for an Outside Plant Engineer (OSP) to work on the 5G/NT area. Each day the engineer will scrub the HiCAP list in UUI and determine how we can provide service to them. Since LI Design engineers handle a district this person will be familiar with how to survey and design FTTP jobs as well as pole jobs. Engineering prints will have to be drawn in ICGS and sent to our Construction team for them to build. Conversations with the customer will be needed and a site survey of the property to identify how Verizon will provide FiOS service.  

The work day is 8:00 to 5:00 but it could start at 7:30. Occasional out of hour work may be required due to contingency issues. 

This is not a remote job; required to be in the office and in the field as needed.  Office is on a HYBRID schedule but needs of the business will dictate schedule.  Business Unit Verizon New York Inc. Site Bay Shore-NY-USA Job

Requirements:

• Good speaking skills with customers
• Understand Verizon Outside Plant terminology, equipment and facilities
• Create prints in ICGS for handoff to our Construction team
• Understand Databases: UUI/Cofee/VBuild/iVAPP/CCP
• Understand how FiOS/HiCAP is designed and how to bring it into buildings

Desired Skills:

• OSP Engineer who can design in ICGS all FiOS/HiCAP jobs
• Understand the OSP aerial and underground plant
• Understand FIM, iVAPP, vBuild, NTAS, CCP, WFM

Education:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field would be desirable
