JOB DESCRIPTION
Apex Systems is seeking an Agile Project Manager. This position will require the employee to attend occasional onsite meetings at either the Pentagon (Arlington, VA) or Fort Meade, MD. The employee must reside in the DC Metro Area.
As an Agile Project Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of project development and implementation from original inception to final completion. You will serve as a single point of contact and interface with all parties involved in the project including developers, administrators, engineers and customers.
HOW AN AGILE PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Develop project roadmap in close coordination with the customer and contractual requirements.
Define sprints, related timelines and monitor progress driving tasks to completion.
Lead Scrum meetings.
Manage installation, configuration and maintenance of virtual hosts, operating systems, virtual machines, applications and databases in both cloud and on-premises environments.
Monitor work performance, measure results, and ensure delivery of contracted product deliverables and solutions support management and decision-making and facilitate communications.?
Risk Management: Identify risks, resolve problems and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.??
Institute and maintain a process that ensures problems and action items discussed with the Government are tracked through resolution and shall provide timely status reporting. Results of contractor actions taken to improve performance shall be tracked, and lessons learned incorporated into applicable processes.??
Establish and maintain a documented set of disciplined, mature, and continuously improving processes for administering efforts with an emphasis on cost-efficiency, schedule, performance, responsiveness, and consistently high-quality delivery.??
Provide a Monthly Status and Forecast Report.?
Support and attend customer governance meetings, calls and objectives.?
Promote collaboration between team members.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Gathers customers’ requirements and establishes project scope and objectives.
Prepares detailed schedules, project estimates, and status reports.
Allocates resources to facilitate the successful completion of projects.
Coordinates and conducts meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
Reviews deliverables and ensures adherence to quality standards.
Manages the integration of vendor tasks and evaluates vendor deliverables.
Provides recommendations and takes action to resolve any management related issues.
Anticipates potential project/program related problems.
Utilizes refined techniques for identifying, eliminating or mitigating solution, project/program and business risk.
Understands customer, industry and business trends. Applies this understanding to meet project\\program objectives. As appropriate, challenges the validity of given procedures and processes with a view toward enhancement or improvement.
Analyzes information and situations and implements actions independently and/or through the management team to ensure project\\program objectives are met.
Analyzes new and complex project/program related problems and creates innovative solutions involving finance, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and solution components.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – REQUIRED:
CITIZENSHIP: US Citizen
CLEARANCE: Active Secret
CERTIFICATION: PMP/ITIL/Scrum or other related certification
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
YEAR’S EXPERIENCE: 8+ years of related experience
TECHNICAL SKILLS: At least 3 years of prior experience managing Agile IT Services
LOCATION: HYBRID - Must be willing to attend occasional onsite meetings at either the Pentagon (Arlington, VA) or Fort Meade, MD.
