Position: Systems Engineer

Clearance Level: DoD Secret clearance 

Location: Remote-office based out of the DMV area

Job Type: 6 month Contract to Hire 

Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer’s primary focus is to identify and capture program level requirements for new and upgraded cyber security systems that support the customer’s mission. This work will be performed as part of a SAFe implementation, with a specific focus on Epic definition and ART requirements. This position will work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish high-level solution intent, the solution intent information which includes high level architect views, and documentation requirements. This position will also provide requirements traceability support for enterprise-level documentation and artifacts. Other responsibilities includes familiarity with the technical reference model (TRM) and using it to research for potential technology overlap, review change requests for adherence to the enterprise architecture and potential new technology to be added to environment. The Senior Systems Engineer will also be participating in the monthly DHS HQ Enterprise Architecture Center of Excellence (EACoE) and in the Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) implementation across the program and customer environment.
Required:

*Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance prior to your start date*

• Experience in applying and executing to SAFe or Agile Scrum
• Experience working in an agile environment and with agile tools such as Jira Align, Jira, etc.
• Strong understanding of DoDAF architecture views
• Experience in SDLC
• Experience in requirements development, analysis and management
• Experience in developing Use Cases
• Experience in creating Lean Business Case
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills -- orals and writing
• Able to work independently, collaboratively with teammates, and mentoring junior members of team
• Experience in developing and communicating technical solutions

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience in Project Management and Risk Management
• Knowledge of MBSE implementation, maintenance, and usage
• Knowledge of SysML
• Experience working in a cyber-domain
