Apex Systems is looking to find a local Oracle DBA for one of our clients in Birmingham, AL. This position is a 1 year contract and must be willing to go onsite 3 days a week in Birmingham. Project Details – Size, Scale, Scope? How does candidate fit into this?
This position provides support, maintenance and data analysis of the critical Microsoft SQL and Oracle database infrastructure within the Transmission’s Energy Management System (EMS) department supporting the reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System (BES)
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:
- Audit data
- Tune + monitor database storage
- Normalize data
- Assist with testing and make sure that all database issues are resolved.
- This is a 24/7 environment, however the contractor is not expected to work those hours, only be available if needed
What are the top 3 MUST HAVE technologies or Required experience with the technologies the position?
1. MS SQL 2019
2. Oracle
3. S degree in Computer Science or MIS
NICE TO HAVES (OR WHAT GETS THE WIN)?
1. AlwaysOn Implementation experience
2. Knowledge of PL/SQL and/or T-SQL preferred
3. Knowledge of AAG and Oracle HA configuration and administration
