Job Title: Senior IT Specialist 

Client/Government Customer: Leidos NGEN/The Navy  

Hours of Operation/Location: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, 100% on-Site 5 days/week in Suitland, Maryland

Max Pay Rate: $31.72/HR + an additional $4.41 of SCA Pay + PTO will kick in upon your 1-year anniversary on this contract 

Interview Process: One-step 30 minute phone call interview w/Stephanie, and site ops lead.

Contract Type/Length: Long Term Contract until 2029

Required Clearance: An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required   

Required Certification: An active CompTIA Security+ is required

Required Qualifications: 

  • Four to five years of IT experience is required.
  • Must feel comfortable troubleshooting laptops, desktop devices, peripheral equipment, and basic Outlook issues.
  • Windows Server and Windows 7/8/10 experience highly desired.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Collect, identify, define, and organize detailed user and information technology requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal direction and be able to help conceptualize, design, construct, test and implement portions of their information technology solutions.
  • The IT Specialist will help with project planning.
  • Perform hands-on software and hardware repair.
  • Check email, view open tickets in HP service manager, or customer will contact help desk, tech will then visit location where customer is to resolve issue (travel would be within the base), close out the ticket, or escalate if necessary.
  • Competent to work on complex technical IT assignments.
  • Install desktops, portable computers, peripherals, and software products for networked, classified and unclassified, and standalone environments.
  • Detect, diagnose, research solutions, and resolve desktop and portable computer software and hardware failures.
  • Provide users with information, guidance, and instruction on use of desktop and portable computer hardware and software.
  • Analyze and assess customer service requests and provide prompt technical solutions.
  • Conduct IT audits as assigned, in compliance with policies governing the administration, utilization, and acquisition of desktop and portable computer products.
  • Prepare progress/status reports and submit to team leads as required.
  • Utilize trouble-ticketing software for opening/updating/closing tickets in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Identify and document areas for process improvements.
  • Contact and effectively communicate with users by telephone, electronic communications, or in person.
  • Prepare equipment for reuse or surplus of property actions.
  • Provide technical support for customers assigned to remote locations as required.
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades and installations involving multiple computers, printers, multi-printers, and peripherals.
  • Coordinate the disassembly and reinstallation of IT equipment in support of office relocations and new buildings/locations.
  • Performs IT support duties and related problem solving using desktop IT skills, demonstrating IT desktop experience, good judgement, and initiative.
  • Contribute to and lead others with complex problem solving.
  • Typical duties include installing, maintaining, and administering desktop computer systems and associated peripherals including printers, monitors, switchboxes, business application software, and various operating systems.
  • Work with government personnel and others, leads other contractors to complete IT tasks and projects as necessary.
