Job Summary:

This position is for a Network Administrator in a DoD MAC-II environment.  This position is responsible for providing network engineering support for DCPDS, including planning, designing, and evaluating various components of the network.  Duties may include providing specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments. Support level duties include monitoring, installation, modification, testing and servicing of network equipment.

Job Description:

This sub family is responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. Responsibilities may include management of systems infrastructures, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space. Implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.

Impact: Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower level technical staff.

Complexity: Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.

Communication: Communicates with internal and client project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.

Leadership & Talent Management: Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. If no degree, then 8-12 years of prior relevant experience required. 
  • Familiarity with DoD/STIGs/scans
