Windows Administrator

 

  • Location: San Antonio, TX
  • Schedule: Flexible 40hrs Monday-Friday | some on-call/weekends needed
  • Duration: 6 months, high possibility of conversion/extension

 

Summary:

This position is for a Windows Administrator in a DoD MAC-II environment.  This position is responsible for providing Windows server administration for medium enterprise-wide, multi-site server environments for the DCPDS program. This position will require working in a fast paced team environment. This position will also require the following: work flexible schedules to support mission requirements; solid communication skills to interact with system owners, DCPDS Operations team, and Engineering team to receive and status incidents on Windows server and storage; assist in the planning, analysis, and design of Windows servers, storage, and server network components to deliver new capabilities and projects; effectively troubleshoot issues to be able to work towards a resolution; assist with providing the health monitoring of servers, their storage, and server network interfaces; assists with creating and maintaining system documentation and reporting.

This sub family is responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. Responsibilities may include management of systems infrastructures, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup and recovery of IT infrastructure. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space. Implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies and troubleshoot issues.

 

Requirements:

  • Windows servers 2016 and 2019
  • Hyper V
  • VM Ware
  • Virtual Clusters
  • Microsoft Systems Center
  • Implementing SharePoint, Windows OS, SQL Server
  • Patching Windows systems
  • Active Directory Management experience

 

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with HP Blade servers and enclosures
  • Familiarity with HP SAN (storage area network) systems
  • Arc Site
  • SIEM Architecture – this includes security scans and vulnerabilities

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Security + Certification
  • Bachelors degree + 4-8 years of relevant work experience
    • OR Masters degree + 2-6 years relevant work experience
    • OR 8-12 yeas of relevant work experience without a degree
