Title:
EV Customer Solutions Advisor (AD-1) 
Onsite (San Diego, CA)
Primary Purpose: 
  • Lead the sales and customer/site host engagement process to generate leads, establish book-of-business in Commercial/Industrial segment and secure sale/commitment of program participation.
  • Lead and manage the site acquisition/customer on-boarding process (determine project eligibility, conduct site screening, lead site walk technical team, desktop review, preliminary design, agreement/easement negotiations, when applicable).
  • Project manage sites throughout the program life cycle (site acquisition to construction completion/energization & site set-up).
  • Communicate, collaborate and coordinate with internal departments, key stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and channel partners to define project requirements, assess alternatives and present solutions to business challenges for site hosts/fleet operators.
Responsibilities/ Duties: 
50% Customer Engagement/Sales/Customer Relationship Management: 
  • Educate customers on all aspects of clean transportation program portfolio, including available pricing plans, bill impacts, and applicable load management strategies.
  • Develop and present customized presentations to support sales and site recruitment to site hosts and respond to all customer program inquiries.
  • Lead the sales and customer/site host engagement process to generate leads, establish book-of-business in Commercial/Industrial segment and secure sale/commitment of program participation.
  • Lead and manage the site acquisition/customer on-boarding process (determine project eligibility, conduct site screening, lead site walk technical team, desktop review, preliminary design, agreement/easement negotiations, when applicable).
  • Sell the fleet electrification value proposition over diesel or other alternative fuels to fleet managers.
  • Understand regulatory and political requirements for Clean Transportation programs.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of site host agreements and easements/license agreement, when applicable.
  • Responsible for individual program/segment goals.
30% Project Management:  
  • Present, communicate & manage customer expectations & experience on all activities leading to successful completion.
  • Develop and maintain project parameters for project requirements.
  • Provide direction to contractors, consultants, and project team.
  • Coordinate input from and participation with various other departments within the Company as needed to meet project objective.
  • Convey time-sensitive project schedule concerns related to charging infrastructure installation.
  • Project tracking and reporting, develop project schedule milestones for book-of-business.
  • Report on project status, and secure customer commitments (interest list, application, agreement and easement documents) to meet program and project completion schedules.
15% Outreach/Program Promotion:
  • Represent all clean transportation portfolio offerings in sales & marketing opportunities with potential customers, OEMs, and other relevant channel partners.
  • Participate in outreach events, develop and deliver PowerPoint presentations on clean transportation program offerings to externally facing audience. 
5% Perform Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Document all relevant program processes and procedures for program compliance.
  • Implement lesson learned from statewide IOUs & previous transportation electrification programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 years related experience or equivalent experience/training required.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to make persuasive presentations and written proposals on technical subject matters.
  • Possess strong customer service skills that demonstrate a good understanding of customer attitudes and needs and how customers make purchasing decisions (i.e., operational needs, financial/pay-back requirements, budgeting cycles, technological preferences and biases, etc.).
  • Previous experience in customer services, account management, billing and/or sales experience is a must.
  • Understanding of applicable SDG&E EV tariff rate structures.  
  • Knowledgeable about EVs and EVSE for end-use applications is highly desirable.
  • Requires strong project management skills in a technical sales environment
  • Understands complexities of customer contract negotiation and adherence to audit compliance on customer contracts.
  • Previous experience with fleet operators, OEMs, supply vendors and fleet management concepts is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements: 
  • Some travel is required to attend conferences and industry-related events that are out of area.   
  • Must have a valid CA Driver’s License.
