Remote Tier 1 Support Engineer

Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking for a Remote Tier 1 Support Engineer on a contract basis. This will be a 12+ month contract.
  • Infrastructure monitoring of multiple type events and alerts to ensure overall health of the distributed environment.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve alerted and escalated incidents within service level agreements, include but not limited to: backup failure alerts, server availability and health alerts, AWD/FAX alerts, Patrol agent alerts, ProactiveNet alerts and SNMP agent alerts, Citrix Alerts, Certificate Alerts, O365 knowledge.
  • Fulfill service requests, including Windows/Linux server builds and decommissions, folder/file restore, move and copy, server component requests, SharePoint site request, elevated service access requests and print server requests.
  • Serve as the escalation point for the Tier 1 help desk.
  • Handle ongoing server maintenance, including standard, low risk infrastructure changes.
  • Perform incident trending and analysis.
  • Create, modify and maintain processes and break/fix procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of related experience in a similar environment.
  • Experience in the following areas: Windows Server, Citrix, Exchange, O365, VMWare, SAN, NAS, SharePoint, DHCP, DNS and F5 VPN.
  • Written/verbal communication and customer service skills to interact with global customers and partners on a daily basis.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and resolve alerted and escalated incidents.
