We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Technical Lab Director. This pivotal role will lead our laboratory operations by ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of analytical accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, extensive knowledge of quality systems, testing regulations, and proven leadership abilities.
Lab Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of laboratory operations, including sample intake, testing
procedures, data analysis, and reporting.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows to maximize productivity and ensure timely delivery of results.
- Maintain and calibrate analytical instruments to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, precision, and reproducibility of analytical results.
- Stay abreast of changes in testing regulations and ensure the laboratorys
procedures and protocols are in compliance.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and auditors during inspections and audits to
ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve any quality issues or deviations from established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including state and federal testing regulations.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Recruit, train, and supervise laboratory staff including Chemists, analysts, technicians, and support personnel.
- Provide leadership and guidance to foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and

Research and Development:
- Lead research and development initiatives to develop new testing methods, improve existing procedures, and address emerging analytical challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into practical applications that enhance laboratory capabilities and services.
Client Relations and Business Development:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the laboratorys client base.
- Represent the laboratory at industry conferences, seminars, and trade shows to
showcase capabilities and build professional networks.
- PhD, MS, or BS degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role in a scientific industry.
- Strong understanding of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and ICP-MS
- In-depth knowledge of testing regulations, including but not limited to state and federal requirements (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025, ASTM, AZDHS).
- Proven track record of effectively managing laboratory operations, ensuring compliance, and achieving business objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other analytical software tools is preferred.
