Project Coordinator
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our consulting practice has an opening for a PCO to support with project governance and financials and who has  strong communication skills for a Top Five Bank.
Client: Big 5 Bank
Location: Hybrid Downtown Toronto, Ontario
Terms: 6 month contract, Strong possibility of extension
Hours: 37.5 hours/week Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm –

Summery:
This PCO position requires strong communication and customer service skills, excellent computer skills (particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy environment. The role serves as a resource for basic company policies and procedures. Communicates with senior managers and line management to gather/convey relevant information. Performs diverse, advanced and confidential administrative support functions.
 
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications -- especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be self-motivated and possess excellent written, verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with customers, associates and business partners
  • Be able to work independently and effectively as a team player  
  • Must have the ability to work well under pressure
  • Must possess excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to research issues using multiple bank systems
  • Have excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Effective prioritization of multiple tasks, balancing quality and productivity
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule assignment
 
 
DESIRED SKILLS:
  • 3-5 years related experience as a PCO
  • Strong Business acumen and understanding of Preferred Consumer Banking and Investments
  • Proven track record of building strong partnerships and influencing management and executive level without direct authority.
  • Comfortable presenting governance and status meetings to and interacting with leadership.
    • capturing meeting minutes
  • Participate in meetings with clients and task members to determine progress of work and identify additional follow up needs
    • Tracking project updates and sharing status slides,
  • Experience financials
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency with bank systems examples include but not limited to: SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, WebEx
  • Compile reports concerning progress of work and downtime to distribute to personnel involved in project.
  • Ensure project control procedures and policies within a number of projects are executed and functioning according to Technology’s project performance standards.
SOFT SKILLS:
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to interface effectively with a broad range of contacts from technical staff to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and to work successfully under pressure.
  • Analytical thinker, with ability to solve problems.
  • Can deal with ambiguity and requests for change.
  • Quick and continuous learner with proactive attitude to the job duties.
  • Genuine interest in the role.
