Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking Lab Technicians for our client for their R&D Lab Project in the Pittsburgh Area. If interested & open to entry level opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Support R&D of process and product through testing and measurements with existing equipment
  2. Perform upgrades and basic maintenance of lab equipment and instrumentation
  3. Help design and develop new measurement and characterization methods including software development for data acquisition
  4. Hands on fabrication and assembly of new and novel equipment and instrumentation for process and product characterization
  5. Assist with planning, coordinating, executing, documenting, and communicating results from complex experiments both in the lab and at production facilities

Desired Skills/Experience:

  1. Experience supporting and maintaining R&D equipment and instruments.
  2. Knowledge and proficiency in basic electrical circuitry and design with active components
  3. Skilled in the use of testing equipment, instrumentation tools, and mechanical systems.
  4. Strong background in computers and hardware
  5. Experience in writing robust code in one or more of Python, C, C++, LabVIEW
  6. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on laboratory work, and accurately document procedures and results
  8. Adhere to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security protocols
  9. Able to come up to speed quickly and perform effectively on new projects or those the incumbent has not worked on for some time

Education:

  1. Associates Degree or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering (Technology), or Instrumentation Technology
