Position:  Design Architect
Location: Hybrid in Memphis TN (will consider remote, but local to Memphis is highly preferred)
Estimated Duration: The client approximates that this project may last up to <6- months. However, there is no guarantee of employment for any length of time.
Pay Rate Range:  $33/hr.
Project Description: As the Design Architect, you will have responsibility for coordinating projects in this category, ensuring consistent application of brand requirements, while working in partnership with our Senior Project Managers, Design Managers, potential owners, consultants, and internal team members! You will have a primary responsibility of providing FFE and Finish quantity information, while also providing general project coordination as needed for franchise conversion projects including conversions from non-Hilton branded hotels and brand change conversions from existing Hilton branded hotels.
Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:  

  • Establish the FFE & Finish components necessary for a hotel to convert to Hilton using the required Spark by Hilton design package
  • Create a quantity matrix documenting the quantities established for the conversion
  • Coordinate with the Senior Project Manager, Design Manager, and owner as necessary to finalize quantities
  • Coordinate requirements of the PIP scope as they relate to the Spark by Hilton design package
  • Build positive relationships with hotel owner/franchisees and their project team along with conducting additional meetings, conference calls, and webinars as needed to complete the FFE Finish and Matrix quantities
  • In addition to the primary responsibilities above, the additional tasks may be required on an as needed basis:
  • Provide technical reviews of interior design, architectural, engineering plans, and other construction submittals and shop drawings on behalf of the Senior Project Manager and Design Manager to enforce design and construction standards
  • Notify the Senior Project Manager of any issues, deficiencies, or non-compliance with brand standards during design review.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as needed by the Senior Director to support the growth of the Spark by Hilton brand

  • Experience accurately, efficiently, and effectively producing project documentation independently, with a focus on space planning and FFE & Finish tagging

  • Ability to build trust and gain respect of owners, developers, design consultants, contractors, and Hilton team members
  • Apply creative problem-solving skills while maintaining excellent internal and owner relations
  • Strong understanding of FFE and Finishes with a general understanding of building systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • One - three (1-3) years of experience in space planning/ quantity takeoffs/construction/renovation
  • One (1) years of experience reading and interpreting construction documents (e.g. architectural and engineering plans)
  • Exceptional with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Exceptional with AutoCAD, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • BA/BS/Bachelors Degree in Architecture or Interior Design related field
