Title: Lab Support Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Contract Length: Long Term Ongoing Contract
Pay Rate: $30-40/HR
Lab Support Engineer will work onsite in a lab environment.
 
ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO:

  • System builds to specifications and system teardowns.
  • Online First Article (OFA) builds and setup/teardowns.
  • Customer Image Validation, Media Restore, and Image Capture.
  • Hardware Library check ins/outs.
  • Project work related to Automation and Business Transformation, along with systems support functions.
DAY TO DAY:
  • Resource will mainly support OFA (Online First Article), working on pilot builds for the Engineering team and OFA for customers. Supporting Project Engineers (Project Managers).
  • Lab Support Engineer will receive a request for a build, (colleague will check equipment in/out of their parts library), Lab Support Engineer will build an environment so the various Engineering teams can tap into that system to ensure the software/images work. The customer can tap in for OFA as well.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lab Support Engineer will not be customer facing since OFA has gone to a helpdesk – only occasional customer interaction.  Because of this, the Hiring Manager is not targeting technical support or helpdesk backgrounds because so much of those roles are scripted.
  • Must have hands on experience and/or true lab experience. 
  • DSView and/or KVM experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with Cloud, Virtualization and/or RPA experience preferred since Lab Support Engineer will be are using more of these technologies (junior level experience and/or knowledge is acceptable)
