Position: Construction Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL preferred but can sit in Orlando/Tampa/or Miami locations  
Long Term Contract

Description: 

  • Providing supervision of various construction activities related to network site additions, antenna modifications, and upgrade projects.
  • Ability to complete project scoping to determine what materials are needed for each project, then ordering materials and ensuring that materials are delivered to GCs in alignment with the construction schedule.
  • Providing clear direction and supervision to GCs, and/or other teams supporting upgrade projects.
  • Providing guidance for site surveys and engineering to ensure cell site upgrade projects account for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility.
  • Reviewing site survey reports with a focus on measurements, power readings, HVAC assessments, photos, drawings, issues, and recommendations for upgrade projects.
  • Interfacing with internal and external departments to include Real Estate, Regulatory, and municipal agencies in the pursuit of construction and in-service approvals, building permits, and construction inspections.

 
 
DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Ericsson LTE/AWS base stations and remote radio units; Nokia transport equipment, JMA and Commscope Remote Electrical Tilt Antennas, hybrid cables, and CPRI mux/patch panels.
  • Strong ability to manage changing priorities, competing priorities, and situations in which guidelines can change
  • Ability to provide accurate, timely, and concise communications; express and explain issues clearly; update project trackers daily; e-mail and call project members frequently.
  • Exceptional time management and communications skills.

 
 
JOB DUTIES:

  • 80% of this job is in the office 
  • This job was created to offload some of the administrative work from the field engineers.
  • Joining staff calls, staff meetings, delivering content, Administrative tasks.
  • Review and approve CDs per construction standards
  • Verify scope of work against RFDS
  • Coordinate schedules with GC and utility companies
  • Ensure GC has all minor materials to complete project
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure forecasted dates are met
  • Ensure conduit path and power ready for Telco delivery
  • Ensure proper installation of Antennas, lines, and RAN equipment on ground and on tower
  • Coordinate with GCs on Build-To-Suit tower locations for timing and installation of Verizon equipment
  • Ensure regulatory requirements met
  • Update and maintain accuracy of FUZE milestone dates and information

 
 
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
