Job Description:

Apex Systems has a Computer Operator position available for one of our clients, that provides a challenging, broad range of skill development in a team environment to provide quality customer service and support in an academic/research/business setting.

This will be a 12-Month contract with the possibility of extending


Hours are 6pm- 6am

Location: Onsite in Anderson, SC 29625

Candidates must be US Citizens able to work on a W2, per condition of employment

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of network troubleshooting (LAN and WAN)
  • IP Network Troubleshooting
  • C-Records
  • Pointer Records
  • Firewalls
  • Palo Alto
  • Subnetting
  • DNS Configuration
  • Understanding of monitoring tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, CA Spectrum)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Server batch Scripting
  • Technical writing experience
  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Monitors, tests, maintains and repairs network and infrastructure elements.
  • Monitors the network, server, and application elements, resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies simple state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center.
  • Configure network and system resources, and maintain corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
  • Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II. . Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.
  • Monitors mainframe, applications and batch processing. Responds to issues, alerts, incidents, tickets and resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Meets agreed time requirements.
