Data Security Engineer
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for a Data Security Engineer with 3+ years experience working at the enterprise level to place at our client, a top Canadian Bank

Terms: 12 months with possibility to extend
Location Hybrid- 1-day onsite- Downtown

What youll do:
  • Collaborate with business partners, QA, vendors, and account operations to integrate, configure, develop, implement, and troubleshoot data protection services, including Data Element Level Protection (DELP), Test Data As a Service (TDaaS), and Data Discovery and Remediation (DDaR).
  • Own the DDaR service lifecycle: work with vendors and internal partners to design, build, configure, and deploy the service across development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production environments.
  • Utilize Agile methodology to set up environments, configure, test, debug, and document the service, ensuring successful implementation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Integrate data sources with the DDaR service, working closely with data consumers.
  • Provide production support and collaborate with account operations partners to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Who you are:
  • A skilled Data Engineer with 3+ years of experience.
  • Possess a strong understanding of Linux OS, Python, and shell scripting.
  • Have a solid foundation in Azure Networking, including network peering and network security gateways.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Kubernetes and its core operations.
  • Experience with Big Data, including structured and unstructured data formats like Synapse, PostgreSQL, Azure Databricks Cosmo DB, ADLS, Blob Storage, Oracle Database, and MS SQL Server.
  • Adept in DevOps tools and methodologies, including Github/Git Actions, CI/CD pipelines, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
  • Possess a good grasp of security concepts like firewalls, load balancers, VMware, LDAP/Active Directory, authentication/authorization, digital certificates, and Hashicorp tools.
  • Familiarity with SaaS solutions is a plus.
