JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Billing Specialist independently researches and determines proper resolution of issues, consulting applicable management and staff as necessary.  Employee also independently contacts clients and/or managers for notification and resolution of errors.  They will also negotiate and resolve complex situations, as well as providing assistance in policy and procedure.  The Senior Billing Specialist also manages assigned account portfolio with a full understanding of client’s contractual requirements, as well as contractor specific requirements, to ensure accuracy of invoicing and receipt of payment.
  • Manages complex, high profile and dollar portfolios and serves as a mentor and support to analyst as needed. 
  • Reviews time and expenses weekly to ensure accuracy of all unbilled items, while also invoicing consistently based on client contractual billing requirements (VMS, MSP, Specialty Billing, SOW, GOVT etc.).  This includes partnering with field personnel to resolve missing time/expense issues, resolving discrepancies, navigating various client systems, tracking PO funding, etc.  Works with the appropriate field personnel and contracts management to ensure accuracy with contract set up as it relates to client invoicing, funding limits, pending contracts, etc.
  • Researches all open accounts receivable items and unapplied cash, focusing on anything greater than 15 days.  Take any necessary action to resolve balances, including but not limited to, preparing write-downs, OA applications, VMS corrections, client set up corrections (work orders, admin fees, discounts), etc.
  • Serves as support & education liaison for both internal and external clients with inquiries pertaining to software, purchase orders, billing, payment policies and/or procedures, etc. 
  • Owns any internal or external client specific reporting as needed or contractually required, including but not limited to, PO tracking, audit requests, client statements, spend reports, hours/expense reports, etc.
  • Directly collects on all outstanding balances for assigned clients or partners with our collections group as directed by the Supervisor.  Escalates when needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to problem-solve, multi-task and prioritize daily
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player
  • Adaptable to change and an ever-evolving work environment
  • Superior customer service skills, along with strong verbal and written communication
  • PeopleSoft experience is a plus, but not required
  • 1+ year of experience in accounting, billing, or collections. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
