Everforth Apex is excited to announce our Grants for Good 2025 Q1 winner, Feed the Streets Los Angeles.

Each quarter, Everforth Apex’ Grants for Good program awards a nonprofit organization a $1,250 grant.

It’s an important way for our consultants, clients, and Everforth Apex to contribute to nonprofits and positively impact the communities where we live, serve, and work.

We are proud to announce 2025’s Q1 Grants for Good winner is Feed the Streets: Los Angeles.

The Awarded Organization

Feed the Streets LA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to providing direct aid to Los Angeles’ homeless and displaced communities with compassion, care, and consistency. Their mission stems from their belief that one small act of kindness can make a real difference.

Founded on a simple yet powerful idea, Feed the Streets started as a small group handing out PB&J sandwiches to meet immediate needs on Skid Row and Hollywood. Over time, their efforts blossomed into a community-based mutual aid organization. Today, Feed the Streets collects and distributes donated food, hygiene products, clothing, and educational items to ensure basic needs are met for vulnerable individuals.

With more than 100 active volunteers contributing thousands of hours annually, Feed the Streets has made a significant impact in a city where 1 in 4 communities face food and housing insecurity. Their weekly distribution of meals and essential supplies creates hopeful, face-to-face interactions that foster a strong sense of belonging and community for those who are often left behind.

“Everything we're doing directly impacts our community” – Branden DeLangis

Who Nominated Them and How They Are Involved

Branden DeLangis, an Everforth Apex consultant and active volunteer in the LA community, nominated Feed the Streets. Branden was introduced to Feed the Streets by a friend during a career break in 2022. What initially began as a one-time volunteering effort quickly became his routine weekend activity.

Branden regularly provides beverages like coffee and tea during the organization’s meal distributions, sharing a heartwarming perspective: “It’s not something that people need, but I can tell you it’s something that people look forward to almost more than actual food.” He takes pride in remembering the preferences of the individuals he serves, emphasizing the subtle yet profound impact that personalized care can bring. His efforts help build a sense of community and connection for individuals who may have felt invisible.

How Contributions and Volunteerism Make an Impact

Nonprofit organizations like Feed the Streets face challenges such as increasing competition for donors and volunteers, financial regulations, and compliance demands. However, with the aid of compassionate volunteers and grants like this one, Feed the Streets can sustain their mission.

The $1,250 grant directly supports their hand-to-hand food distribution efforts, which occur weekly in high-impact areas such as Skid Row, MacArthur Park, Hollywood, and Altadena. Feed the Streets LA also pivots their services during times of need—for example, deploying aid during the recent Los Angeles wildfires and providing backpacks and school supplies during the back-to-school season.

How You Can Get Involved

If you want to make a difference, Feed the Streets actively welcomes volunteers and donations. No formal sign-up or registration is needed to contribute. As Branden DeLangis puts it: “It’s come as you are. Anytime you can, and whoever is there, you know you’ll find something to do—something you’re comfortable with and enjoy doing.” Additionally, you can contribute by purchasing items directly from their Amazon Wish List. Whether you can assist with distributions or donate food, hygiene products, or clothing, your efforts will create tangible change in the lives of those experiencing hardship.
