Sean Casey currently serves as Apex Systems' President. As President, Sean is responsible for running daily operations, managing the overall performance, and ensuring Apex is poised for success today and in the future. With over 25 years of experience in the IT services and consulting industry, Sean strengthens our focus on our operational results and productivity.

Previously at Apex, Sean began his career as the company's 9th employee, growing the company's geographic reach across North America and Canada. Later he served as Vice President for 17 years, and then Chief Operating Officer for three years.

Throughout all of his roles with Apex, Sean's focus remains on our people with the goal of uniting Apex and ASGN's many divisions across one global front.

Since 2015, Buddy Omohundro has served as the Chief Services Officer for Apex Systems, with leadership responsibility over the company’s corporate functions.  Buddy has also served as Apex’s General Counsel and a member of its Senior Management Council for the past fourteen years. In his role, he manages and advises the company on a broad range of business and legal issues across numerous areas.  He also chairs Apex’s Principal Committee, Shared Services Council, and Leadership Advisory Board. He received a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond, where he also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Richmond Law Review

Tricia House is the Chief Information Officer for Apex systems leading our technology strategy and IT organization. Tricia is an experienced executive who has spent the past twenty-five years solving technology and business challenges for the consulting, sales, and recruitment industries. She is a recognized leader in information technology, strategy, architecture, infrastructure, innovation, and business process re-engineering. As the CIO of Apex Tricia’s emphasis is on creating a culture dedicated to continuous evolution, innovation, and exceptional support of the systems that drive our business forward. Tricia is a proud alumnus of the University of Michigan and has served on charitable committees that focus on career readiness for high school and college STEM students.

Chief Financial Officer

Paige Turnes, Apex’s Chief Financial Officer, graduated from Longwood College (now known as Longwood University) with a BSBA, concentrations in both Accounting and Finance, and is a CPA.  She started with Apex Systems as an Assistant Controller and has been an instrumental force in the company over the past 19 years, supporting its growth from $38 million to over $2 billion to date. As CFO and principal, Turnes works with field leaders to drive current business and find creative solutions to client needs.  In the past years, she has aided in synergizing the Apex brand by spearheading the integration of Apex Life Sciences teams and entities into the Apex Systems business.

Michele McCauley began her career with Apex in 1998 as a recruiter.  She was quickly recognized as a top performer winning top recruiter her first year.  McCauley was instrumental in building Apex internally as she transitioned into our first internal recruiter.  As Apex expanded, she developed that role into managing a team of internal recruiters while assisting with marketing, RFPs, and internal communications.  Her ability to advance these functional departments led to her role today, as Chief Human Resources Officer.  Michele graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

As Apex’s chief marketing & communications officer, Shawn Handley, a Virginia Tech graduate leads a focused team of marketing and communications professionals.  He has 21+ years’ experience in the staffing and consulting industry and provides valuable guidance to his team as they strengthen and enhance the Apex brand.  Shawn is responsible for corporate communications, digital platforms, industry analysis, media relations, digital and print advertising, brand positioning, and corporate sponsorships. He is a member of the Apex senior management council and the corporate responsibility committee.

As Chief Delivery Officer for Apex, Rob Lowry is responsible for delivering exceptional talent to our clients across the US and Canada.  This includes the ongoing transformation and development of Apex’s digital talent acquisition strategy, building strong relationships and providing superior customer service to our consultants, and leadership and professional development for the company’s Recruiters and Delivery Managers.  Rob began his career with Apex in 1996 and is a member of the Apex Senior Management Council and Senior Field Leadership Team.  He is originally from Arlington, VA and is a 1995 graduate of Virginia Tech where he earned a BS in Finance.

Darryl joined Apex in January 2020 as a Director of Government Services and member of Apex’s Senior Management Council. With more than five years as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force and 27+ years of professional services experience with firms such as KPMG, IBM, BearingPoint, and Accenture, Darryl has success in client account prospecting, capture, delivery, and growth in the federal government market. He is a highly effective leader with a track record of game-changing achievements as well as a mentor to those looking to reach similar success.

Jeff Schmalbach is responsible for building Apex’s Consulting Services business while overseeing engagement management and delivery, client satisfaction, and service level agreement monitoring/adherence. His years of proven experience delivering the highest quality solutions, allows him to see trends in the market and push Apex forward in being prepared to bring timely and effective industry-oriented solutions to our clients. Jeff brings more than 18 years of experience in growing consulting business, penetrating new markets, and developing first-time customers into long-term partners and his experience has led to a deep understanding of the information technology industry and its evolving trends and technologies. Jeff graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business and Marketing.

As Apex’s Executive Vice President (EVP) Jason has responsibility for Apex’s Consulting Services business. He has supported numerous mid-to-large size clients in a variety of sales and engagement delivery leadership roles.  Jason leads a team of industry leaders, managing directors, and engagement managers who are responsible for making our customers successful in the marketplace.  He has successfully delivered a wide variety of workforce mobilization, modern enterprise and digital innovation project solutions to numerous Apex clients.  He is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.  His education and longstanding 20+ year career with Apex equips him to provide clients with deep and valuable leadership experience.
