It’s an important way for our consultants, clients, and Everforth Apex to contribute to nonprofits and positively impact the communities where we live, serve, and work.
We are proud to announce 2024’s Q3 Grants for Good winner is the National Center for Healthy Veterans.
The Awarded Organization
Founded in 2020 and nestled near Altavista, Virginia, the National Center for Healthy Veterans at Valor Farm is committed to the rehabilitation and reintegration of our nation’s heroes. With over 2.77 million service member deployments and countless veterans facing the invisible scars of their service, NCHV's mission has never been more critical. It strives not only for the physical well-being of these individuals, but also adopts a holistic approach incorporating mental, spiritual, emotional, and relational healing.
NCHV isn't just about recovery; it's about transformation. Veterans at Valor Farm, affectionately termed "Patriots," are immersed in a nurturing, faith-based environment for nine months, with an emphasis on resilience, trauma recovery, and career preparation. The program's uniqueness lies in its comprehensive treatment model that addresses the whole person.
The Valor Farm facility fosters community and personal growth, featuring individual tiny homes in a Patriot Community Village setup, supporting shared experiences, meals, and a plethora of activities aimed at building strength together.

Who Nominated Them and How They Are Involved
The National Center for Healthy Veterans was nominated by Greg Jost, an Everforth Apex consultant whose heart aligns with the organization’s cause. Greg, who has been involved with NCHV for over a year, nominated them in acknowledgment of the remarkable difference they make in veterans' lives. Passionate about the organization’s ethos, Greg has dedicated his time to supporting Valor Farm’s community villages. His support manifests in various ways: he contributes as a missionary volunteer, offers his assistance with therapeutic equine programs, and oversees the critical function of maintaining the drinking water supply. In embracing these roles, Greg showcases his unwavering dedication to the well-being of Valor's veterans.
Greg encapsulates the compassionate spirit that the Grants for Good program holds dear. His commitment to service is a testament to the profound impact that individuals can have when they choose to invest their time and energy into worthwhile causes.
How Contributions and Volunteerism Make an Impact
With the $1,250 grant awarded to NCHV, Greg will treat three cohorts of Patriots to a fishing excursion in Smith Mountain Lake upon their completion of the 9-month program. This initiative is more than a token of appreciation; it’s a therapeutic adventure, recognizing that shared experiences in the tranquility of nature can profoundly support the healing process.
The Grants for Good donation underscores the pivotal role community support plays in sustaining invaluable services provided by organizations like NCHV. Interested individuals can contribute by volunteering their time, making donations, or simply by amplifying the mission of NCHV through social media and word of mouth. For those compelled to take part in this journey of hope and transformation, more information and ways to get involved can be found on their website.
