Tequila Smith is the Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Reworld, the leader in sustainable waste solutions utilizing innovative technologies to transform waste into valuable resources. Reworld offers environmentally responsible services to a global community and are committed to supporting sustainability goals and zero waste initiatives. In this role, she leads the design, implementation and measurement of both internal and external sustainability impact programs that address overall sustainability, environmental justice, government and regulatory affairs, and corporate affairs and community engagement strategy.

Tequila has extensive leadership experience working at Southern Company, Alabama Power, and Georgia Power. Most recently, she served as vice president of sustainability for Georgia Power, one of the nation’s largest generators of electricity.

Tequila is a member of the Board of Directors for Sunbelt Solomon and an advisory board member of Stonehenge Capital Community Development. Tequila is the chair of the advisory board for B.E. Academy for Girls. She earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MBA from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and an MA in Communication Studies from the University of Alabama.
