Operations Supervisor – Robotics Laboratory


The Operations Supervisor leads day‑to‑day activities within our Robotics Laboratory, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent execution of operational workflows. This role supports ongoing research and development by coordinating routine robotics tasks and guiding a team of Lab Operators. Success in this position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain operational stability in a fast‑paced technical environment.

 

Essential Job Functions

Team Leadership & Support

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Lab Operators to ensure accurate and safe task execution
  • Train team members on robotics systems, lab protocols, and operational standards
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and maintain consistent accountability
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive team culture

 

Operational Oversight

  • Manage execution of routine robotics workflows using tablet‑based control systems
  • Ensure consistency, reliability, and adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and escalate technical concerns when needed

 

Lab Readiness & Compliance

  • Support basic hardware setup and system preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑compliant laboratory environment
  • Monitor equipment functionality, power systems, and general lab conditions

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical operations environment
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience, including coaching and performance oversight
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow and enforce standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with technical troubleshooting or basic hardware setup
  • Familiarity with robotics systems or tablet‑based operational tools

 

Physical & Work Environment Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and move around the lab for extended periods 
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds 
  • Ability to frequently use both arms and hands to handle equipment and/or controls 
  • Standard lab environment (moderate noise, clean workspace)
