Employment Type: Contract (19+ month engagement)
- Primary Location: Radford, VA
- Work Model: Remote with occasional onsite support
- Travel: 2–3 trips onsite per year (government-paid)
- Residency Requirement: Must live within 4.5 hours of Washington, DC
- Must be eligible to acquire and maintain an Active Secret clearance (required for SIPR access)
- Ability to maintain a Top Secret clearance
Apex Systems is supporting the Army Edge Cloud Computing (AECC) initiative and is seeking a Cybersecurity Policy Administrator to drive cybersecurity governance efforts across mission-critical systems.
This role focuses on policy enforcement, compliance alignment, and audit readiness within a secure DoD environment, ensuring systems meet evolving Army cybersecurity standards.
- Maintain and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance frameworks
- Coordinate audits, evidence collection, and compliance documentation
- Align cybersecurity policies with engineering and program operational requirements
- Support classified environments, including systems requiring SIPR access
- Ensure compliance with DoD and Army cybersecurity regulations and directives
- Ability to acquire and maintain an Active Secret clearance (SIPR access required)
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- CompTIA Security+ certification (must be obtained prior to start)
- Experience in:
- Cybersecurity governance
- Compliance and regulatory alignment
- Policy administration
- Familiarity with:
- DoD cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF)
- Audit processes and compliance validation
- Experience working in classified or federal environments
- Exposure to Army or DoD cloud modernization programs
- Ability to operate in cross-functional, highly regulated environments
