Lead Developer

Job#: 3024758

Job Description:

Lead Developer

Location: Austin, TX (onsite 3 days a week)

Compensation: $Negotiable

Conversion: Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

Seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer to join the Software Delivery organization. This is not a traditional lead role—this position is designed for a hands-on technical leader who excels in both strategic evaluation and practical implementation of software solutions, especially as the company continues to grow through acquisition.

The Lead Developer will play a critical role in assessing new tools and applications acquired through M&A activity, determining integration requirements, and either modernizing, retiring, or enhancing those systems. This is a unique opportunity to influence technology decisions, lead due diligence efforts, drive security compliance, and guide a team of developers while remaining deeply involved in day-to-day coding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical due diligence on applications acquired through organizational growth.
  • Evaluate tools, technologies, and legacy systems to determine integration readiness and modernization needs.
  • Enhance, retire, or refactor applications to align with enterprise architecture and security requirements.
  • Strengthen overall security posture by applying modern security principles and hardening standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a development team while remaining hands-on with coding.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks, propose solutions, and guide technology decisions.
  • Drive compliance initiatives to mitigate security vulnerabilities across applications.
  • Deliver clear, polished, executive-ready communication and recommendations.
Technical Requirements
  • Strong experience with the .NET stack, including C#.
  • Expertise in SQL Server and database design.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Full-stack development experience with Angular (React acceptable).
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications—migration, refactoring, hardening, or integration.
  • Familiarity with security principles and application hardening.
  • Financial industry experience is preferred but not required.
