We are seeking a Network Engineer to install, configure, and support our organization’s data communications systems. This role involves maintaining network hardware and software, monitoring network availability, and translating business requirements into telecommunications solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership and advanced troubleshooting for complex network problems.
- Install, configure, and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and other data communications systems.
- Analyze user requirements and system architectures to develop network requirement specifications.
- Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
- Develop network architecture and design documentation.
- Incorporate new network plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
- Provide technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex network problems.
- Manage the transition and migration of networks and develop network addressing schemes.
- Interact with government stakeholders regarding technical network engineering considerations.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, an Associate's degree with 7 years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
Certifications:
Must possess an IAT Level II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification (such as Security+ or equivalent) and a CCNA certification or higher.
Clearance:
A DOD Top Secret (TS) or TS/SCI clearance is required.
Technical Skills:
- Experience with the research and implementation of enterprise-wide network solutions.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving issues with network infrastructure and components.
- Ability to evaluate and monitor the health and performance of network hardware and management software.
- Experience assisting with the development and execution of test plans for network configuration changes.
- Experience with Panorama-managed network environments or similar GUI-based network management tools.
- Comfort troubleshooting connectivity issues for VTCs, PCs, and phones.
- Experience with cable fabrication or repair, including fiber and CAT5.
- Willingness to perform general helpdesk tasks and hands-on physical tasks as part of a small team.
The pay rate for this position is between $40.00 and $45.00 per hour. The annual salary range is from $80,000 to $90,000. Comprehensive benefits are available for eligible employees.
