Location: Redmond, Washington (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract
The successful candidate must be adaptable, able to take direction, and capable of working independently, as assigned tasks will vary. In this role, the Support Specialist I will be responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships. You will join our team to provide essential support for physical network connections, computer imaging, and vendor interface.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned tasks, acting as the focal point to escalate and address customer needs.
- Monitor subtask activity, assigning and managing customer tickets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure the timely and successful delivery of support tickets and project implementations.
- Provide support for physical network connections and computer imaging.
- Interface with vendors as required.
- Handle cabling of network racks.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience are required.
- Experience implementing technology.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- A proactive work ethic.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical information to non-experts.
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
- Ability to regularly lift 30 lbs, such as computers and associated equipment.
- Ability to occasionally complete repetitive motion by lifting shoulder above head for testing cables in racks.
- Ability to provide own vehicle transportation for travel between local support sites.
- Ability to stretch arms to sort through cables.
- Ability to utilize a step stool to reach cable trays and racks.
- Two or more years of experience in a research environment.
- Two or more years of experience in a data center or related field.
- Knowledge of Linux and server hardware support.
- Knowledge of networks and related hardware support.
- Basic knowledge of networking and troubleshooting.
The pay rate for this position is between $21.00 and $31.00 per hour. A comprehensive benefits package may be available to eligible employees.
