Job Description:
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Onsite)
We are seeking an experienced Senior GIS Analyst to support the long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of a critical hydrography GIS dataset. This role involves managing the geometry, events, and attribute changes to ensure the dataset's accuracy and stability. The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to a project with a direct national environmental policy impact.
- Support the long-term maintenance and enterprise integration of the NCDOT Hydrography Layer.
- Manage geometry, event, and attribute changes for GIS data.
- Perform data quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
- Create and maintain Extract, Transfer, Load (ETL) processes.
- Conduct direct SQL Server Database queries and progress reporting.
- Develop dashboards and translate spreadsheet data into map-based visualizations.
- Support tasks related to data migration, web service creation and maintenance, and integration support.
- Present complex spatial data and solutions to senior leadership.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in the GIS field, with at least 2 years in an enterprise environment.
Technical Skills:
- ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with enterprise GIS concepts, including versioning and reconciling changes.
- Data visualization skills using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- GISP certification.
- Experience with linear referencing systems.
- Background in utilities, roadway, or public safety sectors.
- Familiarity with ARCAD.
This position provides exposure to a cross-sectional team, collaborating with professionals on the cutting edge of geospatial technology. The work has a direct impact on national environmental policy by supplying data for integration into a larger national product. You will be part of a well-funded initiative that utilizes advanced modeling and AI techniques, contributing to a project mandated by one of the state's premier geospatial coordinating councils.
