Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Hybrid)
We are seeking a senior Azure engineer to serve as a technical authority on cloud platforms, providing strategic direction and thought leadership. This role is responsible for engineering and implementing Azure solutions, partnering with architecture to refine designs, and driving the adoption of emerging Microsoft technologies. The ideal candidate will operate above the current team's capabilities, challenge requirements when necessary, and navigate a complex, evolving Azure environment.
- Serve as a senior Azure engineer supporting enterprise cloud expansion initiatives.
- Engineer and implement Azure solutions based on architecture team designs and requirements.
- Partner closely with architects to identify gaps, missing requirements, and technical risks during implementation.
- Participate in architecture and planning discussions to provide engineering input and technical validation.
- Support migration efforts from on-premises environments into Azure services.
- Work directly with Microsoft SMEs and internal teams to evaluate technologies and implementation approaches.
- Assist application teams leveraging Azure Data Factory and other Azure platform services.
- Help define, build, and operationalize emerging Azure capabilities.
- Push back on poor technical requirements or solution approaches when necessary.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is required. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in progressive cloud engineering, with extensive experience as a senior architect or principal engineer. Must have a proven track record of enterprise-scale cloud transformations and deep hands-on Azure engineering experience across multiple services.
Technical Skills: Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps/DevSecOps practices. Expertise in Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry, and Azure Managed SQL. Familiarity with AI/ML-related Azure capabilities is also required.
