Apex Systems is hiring for Pharmacy Technicians for a large healthcare client!

Location: Fully Remote

Compensation: $18-20/hour

Duration: 6-month contract with strong possibility for extension

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM, 40 hours a week (ALL HOURS ARE EST)

What You’ll Do
  • Track and triage coverage determination requests from providers.
  • Determine if pharmacist review is required and obtain verbal authorizations.
  • Request detailed clinical information from prescribers.
  • Approve coverage determination requests based on defined criteria.
  • Document decisions in the PBM system and notify providers and/or members.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding authorization approvals and PBM online applications.
  • Refer specialty drug requests to delegated vendors or clients.
  • Contact providers for additional information to facilitate reviews.
  • Notify physicians, providers, and members of coverage determination decisions.
Job Purpose

You will manage and process coverage determination requests for prior authorizations and Medicare Part D recipients, ensuring compliance and accuracy every step of the way.

What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ years in retail, hospital, or mail-order pharmacy.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current state Pharmacy Technician license
    • National Certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT)

Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $18.00 and $20.00 per hour. A benefits package is available to eligible employees.
