Job Description:

Application Architect

Client: Enterprise Banking

Location: Hybrid 3 days/week

Terms: 1 year Contract, possibility of extension

Overview

Senior-level architect responsible for designing and governing enterprise application architectures, with a secondary focus on BI and Tableau solutions. Ensures scalable, secure, high-performing systems aligned with business needs while presenting to senior leadership.

Top Must-Haves (Key Filters)

- Strong communication skills; able to present to senior leadership

- Senior-level application architecture experience

- Experience across application, data, and integration layers

- Cloud & DevOps exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

- CI/CD, containerization, Infrastructure as Code

- Visio, PowerPoint (UML preferred)

- Tableau / BI exposure (dashboard architecture, performance, visualization best practices)

Core Responsibilities

Application Architecture (Primary)

- Own end-to-end enterprise application architecture

- Translate business requirements into scalable solutions

- Define standards and lead architecture reviews

- Partner with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams

- Support cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments

- Identify risks and drive improvements

Data & BI / Tableau (Secondary)

- Support Tableau and BI solution design

- Partner on data modeling and reporting structures

- Ensure dashboard performance and usability

- Contribute to data visualization standards and governance

Technical Requirements

Application & Integration

- Distributed systems and microservices concepts

- API design (REST; event-driven a plus)

- Application lifecycle practices

Cloud & DevOps

- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- CI/CD and deployment practices

- Containerization and infrastructure concepts

Data & BI

- Strong SQL and data fundamentals

- Data modeling concepts

- Tableau or similar BI tools (architectural understanding)

Security

- Secure design principles

- Authentication/authorization basics

- Data protection fundamentals

Nice-to-Have

- TOGAF or similar

- Financial services experience

- Tableau/BI certifications

- UX/UI collaboration

- Additional BI tools exposure

Experience

- 8–12+ years application development

- 3–5+ years architecture roles

- Enterprise environment experience (Banking preferred)

- Expreince working on front end applications (ReactJS)
