Job Description:
Location: Juno Beach, Florida (Remote)
We are seeking a lead engineer responsible for performing engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced projects requiring expertise in multiple disciplines. This role involves increasing independence, project management, negotiations, and performance tracking. The position focuses on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations, ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals.
- Provide high-level oversight of engineering and project execution.
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Negotiate technical and regulatory requirements and influence executive-level project decisions.
- Act as the technical authority on engineering standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Guide engineering strategies, solve complex challenges, and ensure long-term infrastructure resilience.
- Engage in decision-making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance and reliability goals.
- Provide expertise in system design, grid optimization, and technical risk management.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience: 15+ years of experience in planning, designing, and executing large-scale energy projects, including solar, BESS, wind, and hydrogen systems. Advanced experience in system integration and risk management is also required.
Technical Skills:
- Electrical/I&C Engineering: Electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, safe shutdown analysis, and computational tools (ETAP, EDISON).
- Mechanical Engineering: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, and ASME standards.
- Civil/Structural Engineering: Design and management of civil infrastructure components, including foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, pipe supports, GT Strudel, welding, and rigging.
- MOV Valve Engineering: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
- Driving is required for this position. A valid, non-restricted driver's license must be maintained.
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification is strongly preferred.
