PGD Engineer – Solar Inverter Team

Location: Juno Beach, Florida (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract

 
Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a PGD Engineer to apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments related to solar power generation. This role involves independent decision-making on engineering issues and processes, with supervision related to high-level objectives. The position will focus on project management, technical analysis, and engineering oversight for utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies.
  • Build out and maintain a fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists.
  • Utilize AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to synthesize information.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, acting independently on technical matters.
  • Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general objectives, and limitations.
  • Interface with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual projects.
  • Support component failure rate analysis and the development of work plans.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites.
  • Provide assistance to field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues.
  • Support the development of countermeasures for recurring issues.
Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. A Bachelor's degree in another engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems will be considered.

 

Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience in engineering. Experience with utility-scale inverters and power electronics is required.

 

Technical Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations teams are necessary.

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience with solar inverters.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Previous experience in operations support or control center environments.
Compensation & Benefits

The pay rate for this position is between $40.00 and $50.00 per hour.
