We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Designer to focus on internal-facing user experiences that support engineers, platform teams, and internal technologists. This role is centered on improving developer experience (DX) through intuitive, efficient, and scalable UI/UX across internal platforms such as developer portals, ServiceNow, and observability dashboards.

The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of user research, UX strategy, and hands-on UI design, with experience designing for technical users in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

    • Internal Developer Portals (e.g., Backstage)
    • ServiceNow interfaces and workflows
    • Observability and monitoring dashboards
  • Partner closely with engineers, platform teams, and infrastructure stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, and user journeys
  • Conduct UX research (interviews, journey mapping, usability testing) focused on internal technologists and engineering personas
  • Translate complex technical requirements into clear, intuitive UI/UX solutions
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and final UI assets
  • Ensure consistency, accessibility, and usability across internal tools and platforms
  • Collaborate with product, platform engineering, and DevOps teams to validate designs and support implementation
  • Iterate designs based on feedback, analytics, and evolving platform needs
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in enterprise or internal product environments
  • Demonstrated experience designing for technical audiences (developers, engineers, IT teams)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX problem-solving, user journeys, and platform or system design
  • Experience with:
    • Internal developer tools or platforms
    • Dashboard design and data visualization
    • Enterprise applications (e.g., ITSM tools, portals, platforms)
  • Proficiency with UX/UI tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with highly technical stakeholders
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience with Backstage, ServiceNow UI/UX, or similar internal platforms
  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., monitoring, logging, metrics dashboards)
  • Understanding of DevOps, cloud platforms, or platform engineering concepts
  • Experience designing design systems for internal products
  • Exposure to AI-enabled workflows or productivity tooling
What Success Looks Like
  • Improved usability and adoption of internal developer platforms
  • Reduced friction in developer workflows
  • Clear, consistent UX patterns across ServiceNow, portals, and dashboards
